Role Summary

As Regional Operations Director, you will lead operational excellence across multiple corrugated packaging and solid board plants within the region. You will drive asset performance, OEE, productivity, automation, and CAPEX investments to deliver sustainable efficiency improvements and cost savings. The role also plays a key part in integrating newly acquired sites, embedding Mondi standards, performance management systems, and a data-driven culture to accelerate operational maturity and long-term growth.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the regional CAPEX strategy, ensuring investments support business goals and deliver value.
  • Lead equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Drive asset reliability through sustainable upgrades and preventive maintenance programs in collaboration with plant teams.
  • Implement automation and Industry 4.0 solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by enhancing uptime, performance, and product quality.
  • Partner with the Regional CI Manager to deliver productivity improvements, waste reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Foster a data-driven culture by leveraging KPIs, analytics, and real-time performance insights.
  • Introduce smart technologies that enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and autonomous operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, health, and quality standards across all operations.
  • Provide technical leadership and coaching to strengthen team capabilities and drive continuous improvement.

Your Profile

  • Extensive experience in corrugated packaging manufacturing, with a strong understanding of machinery, processes, and plant operations.
  • Proven success in improving OEE, productivity, and operational performance through process optimization and bottleneck elimination.
  • Experience leading technical and operational initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring consistency and best-practice adoption.
  • Strong expertise in corrugated production technologies, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Track record of driving automation, digitalization, and efficiency initiatives to reduce costs and enhance performance.
  • Influential leader with strong project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills; fluent in German and English.
  • Hands-on, resilient, and collaborative professional with a willingness to travel extensively and maintain a strong presence at production sites.
